Harley-Davidson’s breakout electric brand LiveWire is now responsible for selling the most battery-powered motorcycles in North America, thanks to the fact that its range now consists of the original LiveWire One, several S2 variants and a new line of S4 Honcho mini-motos.

The bikes are cool, awesomely powerful and boast a range of around 120-miles of inner-city riding on a single charge. But true custom iterations have so far been few and far between, with builders seemingly put off by the fact that there’s no combustion engine to craft around.

That might be about to change, as the LiveWire team put two of its motorcycles in the hands of two big-name builders in the run up to the 2026 Mama Tried Motorcycle show in Milwaukee, with Jeff G. Holt of V-Twin Visionary and Richie Rawlings of Gas Monkey Garage working their magic on the machines.

Based on the S2 Alpinista, the pair set about pushing customisation to the next level and in Gas Monkey’s case, that meant producing a stretched springer front fork, fresh aluminium body work and a chain drive conversion.

“Vertical battery conversion, custom aluminium neck, girder front end, hardtail rear, chain drive, and polished spokes from Black Bike Wheels. Modern tech. 70s soul. Exactly how we pictured it,” the team posted to their Facebook account following the build.

“Their willingness to explore new territory in electric motorcycle customisation speaks not only to their vision as builders, but to where the movement itself is headed,” Jon Bekefy, Head of Commercial at LiveWire said.

Now someone needs to get their hands on one of those little Honchos.
