Ruroc unveils EOX 2.0 Pulse Gold helmet that’s basically bling for your head

Hand-finished gold-leaf version of its EOX 2.0 lid is not for the shy and retiring type

A seasoned writer, content producer and consultant, Leon has a lifelong passion for cars and old bikes, often resulting in him purchasing frankly ridiculous vehicles on an alarmingly regular basis.

There was once a time when motorcycle helmets came in three exciting finishes: black, slightly shinier black and “I suppose white if you’re feeling adventurous”.

Thankfully, those days are long gone.

EOX 2.0 Pulse Gold

British helmet brand Ruroc has now fully embraced its inner maximalist with the launch of the new EOX 2.0 Pulse Gold — a helmet that looks like Mr. T specified it himself.

The latest addition to the EOX 2.0 range combines genuine hand-applied gold foil leafing with exposed carbon fibre sections, creating a finish that’s somewhere between luxury Swiss watch and Marvel movie prop.

Apparently, applying real metallic foil to a helmet shaped like an angry aerodynamic teardrop is not easy.

Ruroc says the process is one of its most technically demanding paint projects to date because the gold has to be painstakingly laid over the EOX 2.0’s complex curves without wrinkling, tearing or looking like someone attacked it with a roll of Christmas wrapping paper after several glasses of eggnog.

The exposed carbon sections add another layer of complexity because the underlying Quad-Matrix weave has to be visually flawless before the finishing process even begins.

EOX 2.0 Pulse Gold

But beneath all the shimmering drama, the EOX 2.0 Pulse Gold is still very much a serious bit of kit. It features RHEON impact protection, integrated Twiceme Smart Medical ID tech and a climate-regulating Merino wool liner for long-distance comfort.

Yes, that means your helmet now has better knitwear than most people’s winter wardrobes.

There’s Bluetooth compatibility too, with riders able to pair it to Ruroc’s Shockwave systems for music, calls and rider-to-rider comms powered by Cardo Systems.

EOX 2.0 Pulse Gold

So not only can you look like a futuristic road-racing monarch, you can also argue with your mates over intercom about whose sat-nav got lost first.

The new Ruroc EOX 2.0 Pulse Gold is available now exclusively through Ruroc, priced from £499 in the UK, or $625 / €625 internationally.

Cheap? Absolutely not. But if you’re going to protect your head, you may as well do it while looking like a million dollars.
