If you’ve ever spent an embarrassing amount of time lost inside Porsche’s online configurator, carefully debating wheel finishes, stitching colours and whether Oak Green Metallic is worth the extra outlay, we’ve got some bad news. There’s now another configurator to lose hours of your life to.
Porsche Design recently announced that its bespoke Timepieces programme is expanding beyond the 911 for the very first time, allowing owners of the all-new electric Cayenne to build a luxury Swiss watch that mirrors almost every detail of their SUV.
The Timepieces programme first launched in 2020, offering 911 buyers the chance to create a mechanical chronograph inspired by their car. Now the Cayenne joins the party, marking the first time Porsche has extended the concept beyond its iconic sports car.

Customers can choose between two handcrafted models: the Chronograph, powered by Porsche Design‘s COSC-certified WERK 01.100 movement, or the Globetimer, which adds a second time zone courtesy of the equally precise WERK 04.110 calibre.
Both are assembled by hand at Porsche’s own watch manufacture in Grenchen, Switzerland and housed in lightweight titanium cases that are available in either natural blasted titanium or a stealthy black finish. But customers can go as far with the bespoke touches as the budget stretches.
Just as you would when specifying a Cayenne, buyers can tweak almost every visible element. The dial ring can be colour matched to virtually every Porsche paint finish, including the company’s extensive Paint to Sample catalogue, while the winding rotor echoes the design of Porsche steering wheels. Hands, bezels and dial layouts can all be mixed and matched to create something genuinely unique.
The straps are perhaps the coolest touch of all. Made using the same leather and yarn as Porsche’s vehicle interiors, they can be specified in the exact colour combination as your Cayenne’s cabin. Fancy Bordeaux Red leather with contrasting Crayon stitching? There’s every chance your watch can wear it too. Prefer titanium? There’s a matching bracelet that swaps over without tools thanks to a quick-release system.
Prices start from €5,950 (around £5,100) before you’ve inevitably clicked every tempting option, and buyers can either configure their watch online (we strongly suggest you have a go) or through participating Porsche Centres.
